Proud To Be a WLRA Member: Hulett Motel
The Hulett Motel is family-owned and operated. Their motto of "still serving customers the old-fashioned way" is a testament to their values and history. In fact, the Hulett Motel was built in 1910 and once housed the area's first livery stable.
Over the years the Hulett Motel has seen a few owners, but has never lost its dedication to small-town, western hospitality. Current owners Mike and Pam Schmid purchased the property in 2007 and have entrusted Pam’s sister Julie Amos to handle the day-to-day operations ever since.
“It’s certainly a challenge sometimes,” Julie explains, “but my favorite thing about working in this industry is being able to meet fascinating people from all over the world.”
This love for meeting new people is one of the reasons Julie values her membership in the Wyoming Lodging and Restaurant Association. “The Governor’s Hospitality and Tourism Conference is a great way to network with my peers,” she says. “Not only is it fun and entertaining, but I always learn so much; the seminars provide training and education that help our business and my own professional growth.”
Julie is also proud to champion the future of the hospitality industry, providing packages for the WLRA’s Education Foundation silent auction.
“I think it’s important to help (the Education Foundation) in their efforts,” Amos says. “These are the same kids that will someday keep up the reputation of our wonderful property.”
