Wyoming Tourism & Hospitality Fall Summit

U.S. Department of Labor Announces New Overtime Rules

Last month, in Columbus, OH, Vice President Biden Joe Biden, Labor Secretary Tom Perez and U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced the release of the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) final rule increasing the salary threshold for white-collar exemptions to the federal overtime pay requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act from $23,660 to $47,476. DOL also announced it will automatically increase the threshold every three years and employers will need to be in compliance with the new rule by December 1, 2016.  Read More »

WY ProStart Students Participate in National Competition

Please join the WLRA in congratulating our two Wyoming ProStart teams who competed in Dallas, Texas April 29th through May 1st at this year’s National ProStart Student Invitational. We had a total nine students, three instructors, three sets of parents as well as two staff members who all were able to travel with us. Our Management team was representing Encampment K-12 School and our Culinary team came from Glenrock High School.  Read More »

Yellowstone Lake Hotel Celebrates
125 Years of Hosting Park Visitors

The National Park Service is observing its centennial this summer, but it was a grand old hotel 25 years older than the Park Service that kicked off the season’s festivities in Yellowstone National Park last month.
