Proud to be a WLRA Member: Jo-Bawb's BBQ, Gillette, WY

Jo-Bawb’s BBQ is a Mom & Pop’s take-out BBQ located at 601 E. Boxelder Rd., Gillette WY.

After spending 8 years competing in over 120 BBQ competitions across the United States from Montana to Oklahoma, Tennessee to California (15 states in all) we have decided to take time off from competing and spend time building our BBQ business. Jo-Bawb’s BBQ has won Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion at over 2 dozen competitions and many 1st place and perfect scores in chicken, ribs, pork, brisket and BBQ sauce. We are the only Wyoming BBQ team to be invited and compete in the Jack Daniels World Championship Invitational in Lynchburg TN for 4 consecutive years and the American Royal Invitational and Open in Kansas City for 4 consecutive years. We earned our way to be invited and competed in the Sam’s Club National in Bentonville AR two years. In 2015 and 2016 we were invited and competed in the King of the Smokers in La Quinta California, where the nation’s top 24 teams compete in this most prestigious “Old School BBQ Competition” where we finished Reserve Grand Champion (2nd place overall) 2015 and 4th overall 2016. In 2016 in the KCBS (Kansas City Barbecue Society) Team of the Year point chase we finished 13th out of over four thousand competing teams and 22nd in 2016 and 4th nationally in ribs 2 consecutive years, and 9th in 2016.

Jo-Bawb’s BBQ specializes in offering championship award winning Ribs, Pork and Brisket. Our dishes can be purchased by the pound or in specialty sandwiches with sides of Tater Salad, Slaw and or BBQ Beans. We are working on expanding our menu and we are quickly out growing our little shop after just over a year in this location. In the past years we have set up at various locations to vend and cater BBQ to our customers. Last year at this location we would close and take off on weekends to compete in competitions and our loyal customers were always here when we returned to dive into championship BBQ.

There’s nothing more rewarding then seeing the smiles on our customers faces when they are able to experience their first real BBQ, or our customers from the south being taken back home with a mouth full of delicious succulent BBQ. Jo-Bawb’s enjoys feeding all types of people from Truckers, Construction worker to Doctors and Lawyers and to hear parents of children say their child never finishes their sandwich from other places and my child ate that whole 4 ½” sandwich with sides and wanted mine. I can’t wait until we are larger and can feed more people.
