Welcome to the Wyoming Lodging and Restaurant Association
Our mission is to remain committed to improving the business climate and profit of the lodging, restaurant and tourism industry. Through government affairs, education and the communication of information we help our members deliver a quality product to the consumer.
Our vision is to be the most effective voice and to remain the strongest resource provider for hospitality and tourism in Wyoming. To serve the interests of the lodging and restaurant industry by working to improve the political, social and economic environment in which it operates.
You have likely seen in the news that there has been an uptick in immigration enforcement, including “raids,” and Social Security Administration “no-match” letters being sent to restaurants and lodging properties across the country. While we have not directly heard of any activity yet in Wyoming you should plan ahead and be prepared in the event that ICE contacts you or you receive a “no match” letter.
In March 2018 Congress revised the federal Fair Labor Standards Act to further protect employees' tips. As a result, increased damages and some of the federal "tip credit" concepts now apply to all tip scenarios. Nonetheless, federal law still only prohibits mandatory tip-sharing in limited circumstances.
