Before the Affordable Care Act (ACA), annual and lifetime limits and requirements to provide certain preventive services without imposing any cost-sharing, health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs) or medical reimbursement plans were popular with employers. Many HRA plans were simple documents providing the employer would reimburse his or her employees for some or all of the premiums they paid to obtain health insurance.

The Wyoming Lodging and Restaurant Association Education Foundation will be hosting its annual Live and Silent Auctions during the 2019 Governor’s Salute the Industry Gala event in Cheyenne at Little America on January 29th. The proceeds from the auction go towards our continuing efforts to fund our school-to-career hospitality programs that currently serve over 750 students from more than 25 secondary schools across Wyoming.

 Final Alternative Funding/Statewide Lodging Tax Webinar December 11, 2018

For more than two years the boards of directors from the Wyoming Lodging and Restaurant Association, the Wyoming Travel Industry Coalition and the Wyoming Tourism Board have worked to find an alternative and more competitive funding source to grow the visitor economy and to get the Wyoming Office of Tourism off of the state’s general fund.

  19 Local Option Lodging Taxes Renewed

19 local option lodging taxes were renewed at the general election on November 6, 2018. Of particular note was the City of Sheridan going from a citywide tax to a countywide tax.  Sweetwater County increased their lodging tax from 3% to 4% and the Town of Afton increased their lodging tax from 2% to 3%.
